I am writing this final D.R. post from home now. My friends and I flew back yesterday morning around 7:30 a.m. We are so thankful for the opportunity to serve. All of us on the team felt extremely blessed to have such an amazing opportunity to serve.
Together with our friends from I.C.C. and Esperanza we were able to accomplish the following tasks.
Day 4 and things continue to move forward slowly but surely. I continue to be absolutely amazed by Brett and Arman. They are both working so hard and they continue to be positive and optimistic no matter what kind of obstacles come their way. I would definitely work with these guys anywhere in the world.
Today we met with Henry Pimentel, a consultant for Esperanza International. Henry is yet another amazing man with a passion for Christ, Technology and Education. I was able to capture much of what he said on video so I won’t go into details about his strategy and vision here. I must admit that I was extremely moved to here that they have touched the lives of thousands of people through the effort of their computer labs. It is such a gift to partner with people like Henry.
The end of another great day. This morning started by meeting with Carlos Pimental, Executive Director of Esperanza International. Carlos is a hero of mine. His passion for people and his love of Christ is so evident. Today he shared his vision and strategy of partnership; how we can work together to leverage technology for education and development. It is so exciting to see this shared vision for educaton, community, justice and the transforming love of Christ. I was absolutely inspired to see how much we have in common; our passions seem to be so aligned already. It is evident that God is up to something that is bigger than all of us. The opportunities to leverage technology for education are exploding down here.
It seems like forever since I have posted an entry. To be clear, the past several months have been a blur. Between projects at Willow and projects on the side, I have been going non-stop. Now I finally feel inspired to write again.
